In my previous post, I talked about my Christmas gift procrastination, so I decided to head to Ulta to look for a few stocking stuffers for my sister. Well, that turned out to be a big shopping spree for myself! Does this happen to anyone else?! I mean, I feel a little embarrassed to even admit this! But I thought I would turn it into a blog post on what beauty buys caught my eye! (Amy if you are reading this, I promise your stocking will be stuffed come Christmas day! :))
1. So this one isn’t exactly a new beauty buy, but it’s one that needs to be shared. I use the Mario Badescu Facial Spray as a toner after cleansing my face and I swear my face just drinks this stuff. My skin is normally oily, but in the winter months my cheeks will get dry and flaky. I don’t know if this happens to anyone else, but it’s super annoying! This toner helps control the oil in my t-zone while also hydrating those dry areas on my face. But this stuff doesn’t have to only be used as a toner. It’s also a great reviving spray for long flights or road trips.
2. This was an impulse buy because Ulta puts all these great kiosks throughout the store that just lure me in… Thanks, Ulta. But in all honesty, I’m glad I stumbled up on this one! The shadows are super pigmented and are easy to blend. I’m all about a neutral palette and this one will be my go-to for a couple months.
3. I have mixed feelings about Dermalogica. I used to work for a day spa and they used Dermalogica so I was constantly trying new products throughout my college career and I LOVED them. As I transitioned out of college into the real world I felt like they just stopped working for me. I couldn’t use my Essential Cleanser anymore because it constantly caused breakouts, so I stopped using their products completely. I was reluctant to try this product because of my past experience, but I love it! It’s actually like a super fine charcoal sand that you pour onto your fingertips to create a paste and rub on your face. After using my face was incredibly soft and felt tightened, which is a winner to me! I’ve only used it a couple times, but I’m really digging it.
4. I’ve wanted to try this product for a while now, but I’m not incredibly experienced in makeup application. I’ve watched videos and basically taught myself everything I know about hair and makeup, but still fell like I know nothing! I’m always reluctant to shop the makeup at Ulta and Sephora because the girls working have flawless makeup. I wish I had the courage to walk up and ask if they would teach me everything they know! #IntrovertProblems. Anyways, I got home and tried the brow wiz in Medium Brown and loved it! I think the color might be a little dark for me, but the applicator was easy to use and I was able to create the shape of brow I desired. This one is definitely a must buy!
